California Death Row Inmate Richard Ramirez, Dies

Richard Ramirez, the so-called Night Stalker, has died of natural causes at the age of 53. He was sentenced to death after his conviction in 1989 of 13 counts of murder and other crimes. Seems death row in California is where one goes and usually dies before the state is able to get to the execution.
Since 1978 when California reinstituted the death penalty there have been 13 executions. But 59 inmates have died of natural causes while 22 have committed suicide and another six have died from unspecified causes. Oh yes, one other person was actually executed by the state of Missouri.
