Thought Police Strike Again

Thought for today… We don’t need no stinkin thoughts. Thoughts are bad for you.

One of the most dangerous and un-American trends in our country today is the unwillingness to allow those with differing opinions to even exist. We made it beyond the year 1984 but what George Orwell foretold of in his dystopian novel 1984, is taking place in America in 2014.

Twin brothers, David and Jason Benham had a reality television show set for HGTV but saw that show cancelled. Because of the content of the show? Nope. Because David has spoken in the past in support of traditional marriage. You can read this article outlining the situation at NewJersey.com. Unfortunately, the Star-Ledger’s writer, Vicki Hyman mistakes the “charge” for reality in her first paragraph.  A left-wing organization, Right Wing Watch, charges that David holds anti-gay views because he doesn’t wholeheartedly support homosexual marriage. That is not at all the same thing as having anti-gay views. But with the state of journalism today what would one expect.

The brothers issued a statement defending themselves as reported by USA TODAY,

“Our faith is the fundamental calling in our lives, and the centerpiece of who we are. As Christians we are called to love our fellow man … With all of the grotesque things that can be seen and heard on television today you would think there would be room for two twin brothers who are faithful to our families, committed to biblical principles, and dedicated professionals. If our faith costs us a television show then so be it.”

Would love to see Right Wing Watch pony up the money to help the families who were going to benefit from the show.

Even a liberal such as Tammy Bruce has written on the subject in THE NEW THOUGHT POLICE: INSIDE THE LEFT’S ASSAULT ON FREE SPEECH AND FREE MINDS. And Charles Krauthammer’s thought piece available at Real Clear Politics.

It is all so un-American and so very dangerous. Regardless of what others say, throw caution to the wind and please Think, Then Think Again.
